Definitions.

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,—

1. (a) “Board” means the Board of Directors of the Corporation;
2. (b) “Chairperson” means the Chairperson of the Corporation;
3. (c) “Corporation” means the Goa Mineral Development Corporation established under section 3 of this Act;
4. (d) “Director” means a Director of the Corporation;
5. (e) “Government” means the Government of Goa; (/) “mining lease” means a lease granted for the purpose of undertaking mining operations, and includes a sub-lease granted for such purpose;
6. (g) “mining operations” means any operations undertaken for the purpose of winning any mineral;
7. (h) “Official Gazette” means Official Gazette of the State;
   • (i) “prescribed” means prescribed by rules made under this Act;
8. (j) “prospecting license” means a license granted for the purpose of undertaking prospecting operations;
9. (k) “rules” means rules made under this Act;

   • (m) “State” means the State of Goa.
