This Act amends the law governing the salaries and allowances of the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. It grants the Leader of Opposition the same financial entitlements, including salary and allowances, as are admissible to a Minister under the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The legislation also removes certain existing sections and renumbers others to update the structure of the principal Act. By aligning the LoP's compensation with that of ministers, the government ensures the opposition leader has the necessary resources to effectively scrutinize the administration and perform their constitutional duties.
