This law bans smoking in public places, public transport vehicles, and specified public work sites across the National Capital Territory of Delhi to protect non-smokers from secondhand smoke. It applies to all members of the general public, business operators, advertisers, and tobacco sellers within Delhi. The legislation strictly prohibits tobacco advertisements in public spaces, forbids the sale of tobacco products to minors under eighteen years of age, and bans tobacco sales within one hundred meters of educational institutions. Venue owners must prominently display no-smoking warning boards, and authorized officers or police can eject violators and levy fines or imprisonment for offenses.
