Power to supervise welfare activities
The Goa, Daman and Diu Labour Welfare Fund Act 1986 and Rule 1990In regard to any money set apart in any establishment specifically for the purpose of promoting the welfare of the employees in such establishment, the Board shall have powers— (i) to require the production of any document in possession of the employers of the establishment in connection with such money to satisfy itself as to such money is being applied for such purpose; (ii) to call for any information from such employers of the establishment as it may deem relevant; and (iii) to issue such directions to the employers of such establishment as it may deem fit for the purpose of utilising the fund for promoting the welfare of the employees. Every Inspector shall, for carrying out the purposes of the Act, also have the powers to require any employer to produce any document for his inspection, to supply him a true copy of any such document and to give him a statement in writing.
