Obligations of user of water-course
The Goa, Daman and Diu Irrigation Act, 1973 and Rules, 1975(1) Every user of water-course shall be bound to maintain such water-course in a fit state of repair for the conveyance of water. (2) Every user of water-course shall subject to the provisions of Part IV be entitled to have a supply of water by such water-course on such terms as may be prescribed. The rates, determined by the Government under section 33 for canal water supplied for purposes of irrigation shall, in the absence of a special agreement or contract, ordinarily be levied in the form of— (a) a rate per hectare of land irrigated, fixed with reference to the crops grown, the season of the year during which and the period for which water is supplied and the method of application of water to the land; or (b) a rate per unit of quantity of water supplied.
