Bare Act
The Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Labour Welfare Fund Act 1986
This Act establishes a dedicated financial fund aimed at improving the living standards and well-being of persons employed in factories, motor transport units, plantations, and various other specific businesses across the Union territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. The legislation sets rules for collecting contributions from employers, employees, and the local Administration based on wages to build this pool. These collected resources are then utilized to provide essential amenities such as healthcare, education, housing, and financial assistance to the workforce. The law is important because it offers a structured mechanism for delivering social security benefits to laborers, ensuring they receive dignity and necessary support throughout their employment in these regions.
