1. (2) The Kuladhipati shall, by virtue of his office, be the Head of the University and the President of t11e court and shall, when present preside al meetings of the court and al any cs,nvocation of the University.
2. (3) The KuladhipatI may ;
   • (a) call for any papers or information relating to the affairs of the University; and 2
   • (b) for reasons to be recorded, refer any matter except a

matter falling under Section 55 for reconsideration to

any officer or authority of the University that has previously considered such matter.

1. (4) The Kuladhipati may, by an order in Wiiting, annul:
   • (a) any proceedings of any officer, authority, Commiltee er body c,f the Univers:ty 1

Be it enact~d by the Chhattisgarh Legislature in the Seventieth Year of the Republic oflndia, as follows:- Short title, extent and commencement. 1. (1) This Act may be called the Chhattisgarh Vis?wavidyalaya (Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, 2019. 2. (2) It shall extend to the whole State of Chhattisgarh. (3) It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.. Amendment of Section 14. In the Chhattisgarh Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam, 1973 (No. 22 of 1973), (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act), in Section 14, for sub-section (6), the following shall be substituted, namely:-- "(6) In the event of the occurrence of any vacancy in the office of the Kulapati by reason of his death, resignation, leave, illness or otherwise including a 148 (6) temporary v2c~~ncy, the Rector ,md if no Rector has been appointed or if the Rector 1s not available then on recommendation of the State Government, the Dean of any faculty or the Senior most Professor of the University Teaching Department or any. Officer not below the rank of Special Secretary of the State Government to be nominated by the Kuladhipati for that purpose shall act as the Kulapati until the date on which Kulapati is appointed, for filling such vacancy, under sub-section {1) or subsection (7) of Section 13 enters or reenters, as the case may be, upon his office: Provided that the arrangement contemplated in· his sub-section shall not continue for a period of more than six months." In the Principal Act, for Section 36, the following shall be substituted, namely:- Amendment of 3. Section 36. "36. (3) The Academic Council may propose to the Executive Council, the draft of any new statute or of any amendment to, or of repeal of an existing statute to be passed by the Executive Council and such draft shall be considered by the Executive Council at its next meeting: Provided that the Academic Council shall not propose the draft of any statute or any amendment of a statute affectingthestatus,powerorconstitution of any existing authority of the University until such authority has been given any opportunity to exp~ess its opinion upon the proposal and any opinion so expressed shall be considered by the Executive Council.
