Functions of Zila Panchayat

Functions of Zila Panchayat —

1. (1) The Zila Panchayat shall perform the functions specified in Schedule-IV: Provided that where any functions have been assigned to the Zila Panchayat, it shall act as an agent of the State Government and funds and other assistance necessary for the performance of such functions shall be provided by the State Government.
2. (2) The Zila Panchayat may also perform such other functions as may be entrusted to it by the State Government from time to time.
