Audit of Panchayats.—(1) The audit of the accounts of each Panchayat shall be conducted annually by such authority and in such manner as may be prescribed.

1. (2) The audit report shall be submitted to the prescribed authority and to the Panchayat concerned.
2. (3) Every Panchayat shall prepare an annual statement of accounts and submit it for audit within the prescribed period.
3. (4) The audit report shall be placed before the Gram Sabha or the concerned Panchayat, as the case may be, in its next meeting for consideration and such action as deemed necessary.
