Prohibition to keep a bull unmarked
The Chhattisgarh Live-stock improvement Act, 1950Except as provided by or under this Act, no person shall keep in his possession any bull which has not been marked in accordance with the provisions of this Act. Where in the opinion of the Live-stock Officer any bull is (a) of defective or inferior conformation and likely to beget progeny of improper type, or (b) suffering from any infectious or contagious disease or from any other disease rendering the bull unsuitable for breeding purposes, or (c) of a breed which it is undesirable to propagate in the specified area or maintains a breed of inferior type, he may by order served in the prescribed manner require the owner or the person in charge of the bull to have it castrated or to have it branded with a mark prescribed for the purpose.
