This Act amends the Bihar Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act, 2002. It redefines the Competent Authority and the Designated Court, and widens the meaning of "deposit" to cover deposit-taking disguised as other businesses, such as real estate or plantation schemes. This helps protect people who put money into such schemes.
