Supervision of investigation of cases of special offence

Under the supervision of concerned station house officer, the supervision of investigation of cases initiated by personnel of special crime investigation unit shall be made by such officer who shall not be below the rank of additional superintendent of police and shall directly submit the report to the district superintendent of police. The supervising officer shall be assisted by sufficient number of officers of the rank of deputy superintendent of police, who shall be specially appointed to ensure qualitative investigation in this profession. However in small districts, when the quantity of work does not justify posting of an officer of the rank of additional superintendent of police, officer of the grade of the deputy superintendent of police shall be posted for this purpose.
