Procedure and power of the Competent Authority

The competent authority for the purposes of any inquiry or proceedings under this Act shall have the power of civil court under Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 in respect of following matters, namely :-

1. (i) to summon and to enforce attendance of any person, and his examination on oath;
2. (ii) to accept evidence with proof through affidavit;
3. (iii) to receive evidence on affidavit;
4. (iv) to enforce production of records;
5. (v) to award cost; and
6. (vi) any other matter which may be prescribed.
