Definitions

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "Board" means the Archival Advisory Board constituted under sub-section (1) of section 13; (b) "Director" means the Director of Archives appointed by the State Government and includes any officer authorized by that Government to perform the duties of the Director; (c) "head of the Archives" means the officer in charge of the State Archives of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh; (d) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act; (e) "public records" includes— (i) any document, paper, register, map, drawing, plan, photograph, film, micro-film, audiotape, videotape, cassette, floppy, disc, tape or any other material digital or magnetic information or data relating to the affairs of the State, or of any public sector undertaking, statutory body or corporation, commission or committee, constituted by the State Government, or any other body owned or controlled by the State Government; (ii) any document, paper, register, map, drawing, plan, photograph, film, micro-film, audiotape, videotape, cassette, floppy, disc, tape or any other material digital or magnetic information or data, created, received or maintained in any office, department, body or agency of the State Government; (f) "records creating agency" includes,— (i) in relation to the State Government, any ministry, department, office or agency of the State Government; (ii) in relation to any public sector undertaking, statutory body or corporation, commission or committee, constituted by the State Government, or any other body owned or controlled by the State Government; (g) "records officer" means the officer designated under sub-section (1) of section 5.
