Savings:

1. (1) Notwithstanding the amendnent of the "Indian Penal Code, 1860
   • (FPC) (Act No. 45 of 1860)" "the Code of Criminal Procere, 1973
   • (CrPC) (Act No. 2 of 1974) and "the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 (Act No. 1 of 1872) by this Act, it shall not affect
   • (a) the previous operation of the "Indian Penal Code, 1860
   • (IPC) (Act No, 45 of 1860)" "the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973
   • (CrPC) (Act No. 2 of 1974) " and "the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 (Act No. 1 of 1872) so amended or anything done or suffered thereunder; or
   • (b) any right, privilege, obligation or liability acquired, accrued or incurred under "Indian Penal Code, 1860
   • (IPC) (Act No. 45 of 1860)" "the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973
   • (CrPC) (Act No. 2 of 1974) " and "the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 (Act No. 1 of 1872)" so amended; or
   • (c) any penalty, or punishment incurred in respect of any offences committed against the code "Indian Penal Code, 1860
   • (IPC) (Act No. 45 of 1860) "the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973
   • (CrPC) (Act No. 2 of 1974)" and "the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 (Act No. 1 of 1872)" so amended; or
   • (d) any investigation or remedy in respect of any offences committed against "Indian Penal Code, 1860
   • (IPC) (Act No. 45 of 1860) " "the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973
   • (CrPC) (Act No. 2 of 1974)" and "the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 (Act No. 1 of 1872)" so amended; or
   • (e) any proceeding, investigation or remedy in respect of such penalty or punishment as aforesaid, any such proceedings or remedy may be instituted in any court, tribunal or authority shall be continued or enforced, and any such penalty may be imposed as if that "Indian Penal Code, 1860
   • (IPC) (Act No. 45 of 1860)" "the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973
   • (CrPC) (Act No. 2 of 1974)" and "the lIndian Evidence Act, 1872 (Act No. 1 of 1872)" had not been amended.
2. (2) Notwithstanding such amendment, anything done or any action taken under the said "Indian Penal Code, 1860
   • (IPC) (Act No. 45 of 1860)""the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973
   • (CrPC) (Act No. 2 of 1974) and "the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 (Act No. 1 of 1872)" shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of this Act.
