This Act establishes a comprehensive framework for regulating and promoting the marketing of agricultural produce and livestock in Arunachal Pradesh effectively. It aims to create orderly markets and fair trading practices while developing necessary infrastructure for storage, grading, electronic trading and direct marketing arrangements. The legislation creates the Arunachal Pradesh Agricultural Produce and Livestock Marketing Board to oversee market activities and establishes a registration system for buyers, commission agents and other market participants. It extends across the whole state with provisions for market committees, cold storage facilities and electronic platforms that help farmers receive better prices by reducing excessive intermediaries.
