Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act my be callcd the Andhra Pradesi~ University Acts (Amendment) Act, 1993. (2) It shall be deemed to have cane into force witli cffcct from the 28th May, 1993.

Amendment of Act 27 of 1985 Amendment of Act 27 of 1985.- In the Telugu University Act, 1985, in the Schedule, in Statute 3, in clause (3), for the words "six weeks", the words "three months" shall be substituted.

Amendment of Act 4 of 1991.-In the Andhra Pradesh Uni- versities Act, 1991, in section 18, in subsection (5), for the words "six weeks", the words "three months" shall be substituted.

Repeal of Ordinance 1 of 1993.-The Andhra Pradesh University Acts (Amendment) Ordinance, 1993 is hereby repealed.

1. Short title and commencement Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh University Acts (Amendment) Act, 1993. (2) It shall be deemed to have came into force with effect from the 28th May, 1993.

2. Amendment of Act 16 of 1972 In the Andhra Pradesh Universities Act, 1991,-

1. (i) in clause

1. (a) of section 29, the following words shall be omitted, namely,- “or is suffering from leprosy”
   • (ii) in section 34, the following words shall be omitted, namely,- “or is suffering from leprosy” 3. Amendment of Act 11 of 1982 In the Dravidian University Act, 1997,-
   • (i) in clause (a), in sub-section

1. (1) of section 40, the following words shall be omitted, namely,- “or suffering from leprosy”
   • (ii) in sub-section
2. (2) of section 41, following words shall be omitted, namely,- “or suffers from leprosy” 4. Amendment of Act 16 of 1983 Amendment of Act 16 of 1983.- In Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswavidyalayam Act, 1983, in the Schedule, in Statute 2, in the clause (3): For the words "six weeks", the words "three months" shall be substituted. 5. Amendment of Act 27 of 1985 Amendment of Act 27 of 1985.- In the Telugu University Act, 1985, in the Schedule, in Statute 3, in clause (3), For the words "six weeks", the words "three months" shall be substituted. 6. 4. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by Notification in the Andhra Pradesh State Gazette, appoint. 2. Amendment of Schedule Act 4 of 1991 In the Andhra Pradesh Universities Act, 1991, in the Schedule, in the table,-
   • (i) In column
5. (3) against serial No. 1 items 4 and 5 shall be omitted;
   • (ii) In column
6. (3) against serial No. 2 item 2 shall be omitted and items 3 and 4 shall be renumbered as items 2 and 3 respectively;
   • (iii) In column
7. (3) against serial No. 5 items 4 and 6 shall be omitted and item 5 shall be renumbered as item 4;
   • (iv) In column (3), against serial No. 6, item 1 shall be omitted and items 2 and 3 shall be renumbered as items 1 and 2 respectively.
   • (v) After serial No. 6 the following entries shall be added in columns (1), (2),

2. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 9th March, 2006. 2. Amendment of Schedule Act 4 of 1991 In the Andhra Pradesh Universities Act, 1991,-
   • (i) in clause
   • (a) of section 29, the following words shall be omitted, namely,- “or is suffering from leprosy”
