29. Transfer of Colleges.

Disaffiliation of Architecture and Fine Arts Colleges etc. in the State
- (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Act, 1972 or the statutes, Ordinances and regulations made thereunder.
- (a) the constituent colleges of Architecture and Fine Arts in the University area, which are affiliated to the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University immediately before the commencement of this Act, shall be formed into and maintained as constituent colleges of the Architecture and Fine Arts University.
- (b) the colleges of Architecture and Fine Arts in the University area, which are affiliated to or recognized by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, immediately before the commencement of this Act, shall be disaffiliated therefrom and shall be deemed to be affiliated to or recognized by the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University under this Act and the provisions of this Act shall, as far as may, apply accordingly.
- (2) On and from the date of commencement of this Act, -
- (i) the control and management of the colleges specified in sub-section (1);
- (ii) all the properties, assets and liabilities and the rights and obligations of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in relation thereto; and
- (iii) all obligations of the Government in relation to the said colleges;

30. Shall stand transferred to, vest in, or devolve upon the Architecture and Fine Arts University.

Constituent Colleges There shall be an Academic Committee for each constituent college, the composition and functions of which shall be as specified in the Schedule.

31. Appointing of staff for regulating student's affairs

- (1) There shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor, with the approval of the Council, such officers and other members of staff, as may be necessary, for regulating the student's affairs of the constituent colleges.
- (2) For the purposes of this section, the expression 'students' affairs' means -
- (a) the provision and management of facilities for housing and boarding of students;
- (b) the arranging of programmes for student counseling;
- (c) the assistance in the employment of students in accordance with the plans approved by the Vice-Chancellor;
- (d) the organisation, promotion, and super-vision of the extracurricular activities of the students and the arrangements in regard to their personal comforts and hygienic conditions required to maintain proper health of the students;
- (e) the organisation and maintenance of contacts with the other Universities in regard to matters of common interest for students;
- (f) the assistance to students in procuring the required study materials, instruments, books and periodicals;
- (g) such other affairs of the University and its constituent colleges as may, from time to time, be specified by the Vice-Chancellor as student's affairs.
