Application for license in case of existing Lifts and Escalators

1. (1) Not withstanding anything contained in sections 3 and 4, every owner of a place in which a Lift or Escalator has been installed before the date of commencement of this Act, shall within Twelve months from the date of the commencement of this Act, apply for such authorised officers in this behalf for a license for the working of such Lift or Escalator on a prescribed format along with prescribed fee.
2. (2) If, every owner of a place in which a Lift or Escalator has been installed before the date of commencement of this Act, fails to apply for a license for the working of such Lift or Escalator on a prescribed format within Twelve months, shall pay the Late fee in addition to the normal fee as prescribed.
