The Andhra Pradesh Land Grabbing (Prohibition) (Amendment) Act, 1987 enhances regulations against illegal land occupation across Andhra Pradesh. It applies to any individual accused of illegally occupying government or private land. The law grants Special Courts and Tribunals the powers of both Civil Courts and Courts of Session to expedite trials. Importantly, once initial ownership is shown, the law presumes the accused is guilty, shifting the burden of proof onto them to prove otherwise. It also enables Special Courts to review their decisions to rectify mistakes, protecting property rights and ensuring justice.
