Power to prohibit certain acts for prevention of disorder.

1. (1) The District Magistrate or the Commissioner of Police, as the case may be, may, whenever and for such time as he shall consider necessary to notify, prohibit within such limits of the city or district as shall from time to time be specified in a notification, the performance of any act, the carrying of any arms, or the holding of any assembly or procession, if he considers such prohibition necessary for the preservation of public peace or public safety.
2. (2) Whoever contravenes any order made under sub-section
3. (1) shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month or with fine which may extend to one hundred rupees or with both.
