The Chancellor

(1) Chairman of Board of Studies of Indian School of Petroleum an institute under the aegis of Hydrocarbons Education & Research society will be the first Chancellor of the UPES, whose tenure shall be of three years. Thereafter the Hydrocarbons Education And Research Society, with the prior concurrence of the Visitor, would appoint Chancellor from amongst its members. (2) The Chancellor shall have such powers as may be conferred on him by this Act or the Statutes made thereunder.
