Uttarakhand Reservation in Government Service for the Identified Andolankari of Uttarakhand State Movement or their Dependants Act, 2023

This Act provides ten percent horizontal reservation in government services for individuals identified as participants in the Uttarakhand State Movement and their dependents. It applies to direct recruitment under the State Government of Uttarakhand and overrides any conflicting laws. The law defines eligible dependents as spouses and children, including those who are married, widowed, or divorced. The Act is deemed to have come into force from August 11, 2004, ensuring that past appointments remain valid. The State Government is empowered to frame rules to implement this reservation policy.
