Uttarakhand Public Service (Horizontal Reservation for Skilled Sportspersons) (Amendment) Act, 2025

This Act amends the existing public service law to introduce a four percent horizontal reservation for skilled sportspersons in direct recruitment for government posts. It defines eligible candidates as Indian citizens who have won medals or participated in international, national, or state-level sports and meet specific domicile requirements. The reservation is allocated based on the level of competition, such as Olympic or World Cup medals, corresponding to different pay scales ranging from level 10 to level 5. If no suitable candidates are available for these reserved posts, they will be filled by qualified candidates in the order of proficiency.
