Definitions

In these Rules, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context:- (a) "Act" means the Uttarakhand District Planning Committee Act, 2007 (b) "Committee" means the District Planning Committee constituted under section 3; (c) "Section" means the section of the Act. (d) "Municipal Body" means any Municipal Corporation, Municipal Board or Nagar Panchyat constituted under the Uttar pardesh Municipal Act 1916 (as applicable to the State of Uttarakhand) and the Uttar Pardesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1959 (as applicable to the State of Uttrakhand) as the case may be; (e) "Election" means the election to be held for the election of a member of any District Planing Committee. (f) "Member" means a member of the District Planning Committee specified in the Act; (g) "Form" means the form given in the schedule of these rules. (h) "Ballet paper" means the ballet paper prescribed by the State Election Commission; (i) "Collector" means an officer appointed under section 14 of the Uttar Pardesh land Revenue Act, 1951 (as applicable, adopted and modified by the State of Uttarakhand); (j) "District Magistrate" means an officer appointed under section 20 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 (k) "Chief Development Officer" means an offeer appointed, as Chief Development Officer in the district; (l) "District Election Officer" means the District Magistrate of any district appointed by the State Election Commission for the porpose of the election of the Committee, from time to time; (m) "Returning Officer" means the Returning Officer appointed for the purpose of any election of the District Planning Committee from time to time; (n) "Secretary" means the Secretary appointed under section 7 of the Act;
