The Uttar Pradesh State Universities (Amendment) Act 2024

(1) This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh State Universities (Amendment) Act, 2024.

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the 19th day of July, 2024.

(1) In the Uttar Pradesh State Universities Act, 1973 hereinafter referred to as the "principal Act", in sub-section (1-A) of section 4,-

(a) In clause (j), for the words and symbol "Maharaja Suhel Dev State University, Azamgarh", the words and symbol "Maharaja Suhel Dev University, Azamgarh" shall be substituted.

(b) In clause (k), for the words and symbol "Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Aligarh", the words and symbol "Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University, Aligarh" shall be substituted.

(c) In clause (l), for the words and symbol "Maa Pateshwari Devi State University, Balrampur", the words and symbol "Maa Pateshwari University, Balrampur" shall be substituted.

(d) In clause (m), for the words and symbol "Maa Vindhyavasini State University, Mirzapur", the words and symbol "Maa Vindhyavasini University, Mirzapur" shall be substituted.

(e) In clause (n), for the words and symbol "Uttar Pradesh State University, Moradabad", the words and symbol "Guru Jambheswar University, Moradabad" shall be substituted.

(1) In section 50 of the principal Act,-

(a) In sub-section (1-G), for the words and symbol "Maharaja Suhel Dev State University, Azamgarh", the words and symbol "Maharaja Suhel Dev University, Azamgarh" shall be substituted.

(b) In sub-section (1-H), for the words and symbol "Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Aligarh", the words and symbol "Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University, Aligarh" shall be substituted.

(c) In sub-section (1-I), for the words and symbol "Maa Pateshwari Devi State University, Balrampur", the words and symbol "Maa Pateshwari University, Balrampur" shall be substituted.

(d) In sub-section (1-J), for the words and symbol "Maa Vindhyavasini State University, Mirzapur", the words and symbol "Maa Vindhyavasini University, Mirzapur" shall be substituted.

(e) In sub-section (1-K), for the words and symbol "Uttar Pradesh State University, Moradabad", the words and symbol "Guru Jambheswar University, Moradabad" shall be substituted.

(1) In section 52 of the principal Act,-

(a) In sub-section (2-F), for the words and symbol "Maharaja Suhel Dev State University, Azamgarh", the words and symbol "Maharaja Suhel Dev University, Azamgarh" shall be substituted.

(b) In sub-section (2-G), for the words and symbol "Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Aligarh", the words and symbol "Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University, Aligarh" shall be substituted.

(c) In sub-section (2-H), for the words and symbol "Maa Pateshwari Devi State University, Balrampur", the words and symbol "Maa Pateshwari University, Balrampur" shall be substituted.

(d) In sub-section (2-I), for the words and symbol "Maa Vindhyavasini State University, Mirzapur", the words and symbol "Maa Vindhyavasini University, Mirzapur" shall be substituted.

(e) In sub-section (2-J), for the words and symbol "Uttar Pradesh State University, Moradabad", the words and symbol "Guru Jambheswar University, Moradabad" shall be substituted.

In the Schedule to the principal Act, for the words and symbol, "Maharaja Suhel Dev State University, Azamgarh", the words and symbol "Maharaja Suhel Dev University, Azamgarh", "Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Aligarh", the words and symbol "Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University, Aligarh", "Maa Pateshwari Devi State University, Balrampur", the words and symbol "Maa Pateshwari University, Balrampur", "Maa Vindhyavasini State University, Mirzapur", the words and symbol "Maa Vindhyavasini University, Mirzapur" and "Uttar Pradesh State University, Moradabad", the words and symbol "Guru Jambheshwar University, Moradabad" shall be substituted.

(1) The Uttar Pradesh State Universities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024 is hereby repealed.

(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the provisions of the principal Act as amended by the Ordinance referred to in sub-section (1) shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of the principal Act as amended by this Act as if the provisions of this Act were in force at all material times.
