This Act amends the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021 to strengthen penalties for unlawful religious conversion. It applies across Uttar Pradesh. The legislation increases punishments, including longer prison terms and higher fines for conversions involving minors, disabled or mentally challenged persons, women, Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe individuals, and mass conversions. It also imposes severe penalties for accepting money from foreign or illegal institutions for such conversions. Additionally, offenses under this Act are now cognizable, non-bailable, and triable by the Court of Sessions, with restricted bail conditions.
