General21 sections3 chapters
This Act regulates the operation of rickshaws in Tripura to ensure safe and orderly traffic. It applies to all owners and drivers of rickshaws within municipal limits, including Agartala. The law requires both the vehicle and the driver to obtain annual registration and licenses. It also establishes specific rules for operation, such as prohibiting drivers under twenty years of age, mandating the use of lights during night hours, and dictating how rickshaws should position themselves on the road to avoid accidents. By enforcing these standards, the Act aims to protect public safety and manage urban transport effectively.
