The Tripura Legislature Members (Removal of Disqualifications) Act, 1972
1. Short title, extent and commencement
(1) This Act may be called the Tripura Stare Legislature Mcrnbers (Removal qf Disqualifications) Act, 1972. (2) It extends to the wholc of Tripura. (3) It shall bc deemed to have come into force wirh effect from the twentieth day of March, 1972.
2. Removal of certain disqualifications
A person shall not be disqualified for being chosen as, or for being, a member of !he Tripura Legislative Assembly by reason of the [act that he holds any of the ofices specified iu the Schedule in so far it is an office of profit '[under the Govcrnment of India or the State Government.
3. Savings
A person shall not incur, and shall not be deemed ever to have incurred, any disqualification for being chosen as, or for being, a Member of the Tripura Legislative Assembly if such person had, having held any such office of profit as is specified in the Schedule to the principal Act, as amended by this Act, received any honorarium, allowances, salary or fees in accordance with the provisions of the said Schedule, as amended by this Act.
Schedule. SCHEDULE
(See section 2) 1. The office of the Parliamentary Secretary to the Government of Tripura. 2. The office of the PubIic Prosecutor, Govern~nent Pleader or Government Advocate. 3. The office of the Minister of State and Deputy Minister to the Gov- ernment of Tripura. 4. The ofice or the Speakcr, Depuly Speaker and Leader or the Opposition in the Tripura Legislative: Assembly. 5. The offices of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, or members of any cornmittcc. boii-d or authority, sti~tutory or otherwise, i~ppojnted by the Government of India or thc Government of any State. '[6. Anyofficeur~dertl~eGovernmentofIndiaorunderthest~iteGovern- ment which is not a whole time ofice remunerated either by honorarium, allowances, Salaries or fccs. 7. Any office held in the Terri torinl Army or National Cadet Cotps.
