The Tripura Official Language Amendment Act, 1979
1. Short title, extent and commencement
(1) This Act may be called the Tripura Official Language Amendment Act, 1979. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Tripura. (3) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 2
In section 2 of the Tripura Official Language Act, 1964 (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act), for the words "the Bengali language", wherever they occur, the words "the Bengali language and the Kak-Barak language" shall be substituted.
3. Amendment of section 3
In section 3 of the Principal Act for the words "the Bengali language", the words "the Bengali language and the Kak-Barak language" shall be substituted.
