The Goalpara Tenancy (Extension to Autonomous District of Garo Hills) Act, 1953

(1) This Act may be called the Goalpara Tenancy (Extension to Autonomous District of Garo Hills) Act, 1953. (2) It shall extend to the permanently-settled areas of the Autonomous district of Garo Hills hereinafter referred to as "the said areas" subject to notification under clause (a) of sub-paragraph (1) of paragraph 12 of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution by the District Council of the said Autonomous District. (3) It shall come into force at once.

All the provisions of the Goalpara Tenancy Act, 1929 shall apply to "the said areas" and shall be deemed to have come into force on the date of the commencement of this Act.
