The Easements, 1891

Civil18821 sections

The Easements (Extending Act 5 of 1882), 1891 is a piece of legislation enacted to extend the Indian Easements Act, 1882 to geographic areas where it was not previously in force. Rather than introducing new standalone regulations, it simply broadens the legal jurisdiction of the existing 1882 Act. It applies to individuals in Bombay, the North-Western Provinces and Oudh (which is now Uttar Pradesh), and eventually Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. This Act matters because it ensures these territories are governed under the same unified legal rules regarding easements, providing consistency and clarity across all these regions.
