This Act set up the Delimitation Commission to redraw the boundaries of Lok Sabha and State Assembly constituencies on the basis of the 2001 Census. The Commission, with associate members from each State, readjusts the seats reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and fixes the area of each constituency.
