Short title extent and commencement

a. This Act may be called the Women's and Children Institutions (Licensing) Act, 1656. b. It extents to the whole of India except the State of Jammu & Kashmir. c. It shall come into force in a State on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
