(1) This Act may be called 1the Telangana SIum Improvement (Acquisition of Land) Act, 1956.
(2) It extends to the whole of the 1State of Telangana.
(3) It shall come into force 2[in any municipal corporation or municipality in the State] on such date as the Government may, by notification in the 1Telangana Gazette appoint: Provided that, before issuing such notification the Government shall publish in the 1Telangana Gazette, a notice of their intention to do so, fix a period which shall not be less than two months from the date of publication of the notice 2[for the municipal corporation or the municipality concerned] to show cause against the issue of the notification and consider its objections, if any.
