The Telangana State Minorities Commission (Amendment) Act, 2024

1. (1) This Act may be called the Telangana State Minorities Commission (Amendment) Act, 2024.
2. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint.

In the Telangana State Minorities Commission Act, 1998 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act) in section 2, in clause

1. (d) after sub clause
   • (v) the following sub clause shall be added, namely,- "(vi) Jainism;".

In the principal Act, in Section 5 in sub-section (1), for clause (c), substitute the following, namely,- "(c) not more than seven members to be apointed by the Government, of whom two shall represent Islam and one each from Zorastrian, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh and Jain;".
