The Telangana Single Window Cooperative Credit Structure at State Level Act, 1994
This Act consolidates agricultural financing in Telangana by abolishing the Central Agricultural Development Bank and transferring all its assets, liabilities, members, and employees to the State Cooperative Bank. Applying to these cooperative financial institutions and their staff, the law establishes a single-window system where one bank handles short, medium, and long term agricultural credit along with standard banking services. This reform matters because it simplifies the delivery of credit to rural farmers, making essential farming loans much more accessible under a single unified cooperative framework while fully preserving the existing benefits and employment conditions of the newly merged bank workforce.
