The Telangana Rent and Revenue Sales Act, 1839

1[2. Power of tahsildar to sell property distrained.-- All tahsildars within the State of 2Telangana shall be vested with the power to sell property distrained for arrears of rent or of revenue and shall be subject to such rules and orders, if any, as may be made by the State Government in this behalf.]

Provided always that in respect of the exercise of those powers tahsildars shall be subject to the control and superintendence of the Collector, and shall not be subject to the authority of the Zilla Judge, except in the case of any judicial proceedings.

Repealed by the Repealing and Amending Act, 1891 (Central Act XII of 1891).

And it is hereby enacted that tahsildars shall have authority, subject to the orders of the Collector, to delegate the powers vested in them by the second section of this Act to any public servants placed under their authority; and that the provisions of 1[section 3] of this Act shall apply to all public servants to whom those powers shall have been so delegated in the same manner as they apply to tahsildars.

1[7. Power to invest officers with powers of tahsildar.-- The State Government may, by notification in the 2Telangana Gazette, invest any officer or class of officers with the powers of a tahsildar under this Act, subject to such conditions and restrictions as may be specified in the notification.]
