The Telangana Public Societies (Reconstitution of Management) Act, 1996
The Telangana Public Societies (Reconstitution of Management) Act, 1996
This law provides for the removal of non-official office holders and the restructuring of governing boards in specific public and cooperative societies across Telangana. It applies to non-official chairmen, presidents, directors, and members serving in state-supported cooperative federations and public welfare organizations listed in the law, such as finance corporations for backward classes, scheduled castes, and women. By immediately terminating these positions, the Act empowers the state government to reconstitute the management of these societies to align with state policies. Crucially, it overrides existing bylaws and prevents civil courts from entertaining legal challenges against these office removals.
