Bare Act
The Press and Registration of Books (Tamil Nadu Amendment) Act, 1960
General19602 sections
This Act amends the Press and Registration of Books Act, 1867 to regulate the validity of declarations made by printing presses in Tamil Nadu. It applies to all presses operating within the state. The law requires that if a press does not begin printing within three months of making a declaration, that declaration becomes void. Furthermore, if a press ceases printing for more than three months, the declaration loses its effect, and a new declaration is necessary to resume operations. This ensures that only active presses maintain their registration status.
