Bare Act
The Factories (Tamil Nadu Amendment) Act, 2007
Labour20072 sections
This law amends the Factories Act to protect workers in match and fireworks factories across Tamil Nadu. It requires factory owners to take out insurance for every employee, covering at least fifty thousand rupees, and to pay the premiums themselves. The owner must also report this insurance to the Chief Inspector. The main purpose is to ensure financial security for workers in these high-risk industries, and if an owner fails to meet these requirements, the government can cancel their factory license.
