The East and West Tanjore Sessions Divisions (Validation) Act, 1931

General19313 sections

This Act validates the constitution of the East and West Tanjore Sessions divisions and their Courts of Session. It overrides a rule in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, which previously required these divisions to align exactly with district boundaries. By doing so, the law ensures that legal proceedings and court decisions in these areas are not challenged or invalidated simply because the divisional boundaries did not perfectly match the district limits. It retroactively confirms the validity of these courts and their operations starting from September 1, 1921.
