1. Short title and commencement

(1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu State Legislature (Continuance of Use of English Language) Act, 1964. (2) It shall come into force on the 26th day of January, 1965.

Notwithstanding the expiration of the period of fifteen years from the commencement of the Constitution, the English language may continue to be used for the transaction of business in the Legislature of the State of Tamil Nadu.
