Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (Amendment) Act, 2019
The Act amends the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences Act, 2005 to insert a new section titled "Removal of Vice-Chancellor." This section empowers the Chancellor to remove the Vice-Chancellor if they wilfully violate provisions, abuse powers, or if their continued presence harms the university's interests. The Chancellor must consult with the State Government, conduct a proper inquiry, and provide the Vice-Chancellor an opportunity to show cause before removal. The Chancellor may also place the Vice-Chancellor under suspension during investigations. During any inquiry, the Vice-Chancellor stops performing duties but continues to receive their salary. This establishes clear grounds and procedures for removing the university's chief executive, strengthening institutional governance accountability.
