Rajasthan Universities' Teachers (Absorption Of Temporary Teachers) (Amendment) Act, 2023
1. Short title and commencement.
(1) This Act may be called the Rajasthan Universities’ Teachers (Absorption of Temporary Teachers) (Amendment) Act, 2023. (2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 2, Rajasthan Act No. 22 of 2008.
In sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Rajasthan Universities’ Teachers (Absorption of Temporary Teachers) Act, 2008 (Act No. 22 of 2008), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act,- (i) after the existing clause (i) and before the existing clause (ii), the following new clause shall be inserted, namely:- "(ia) “left out temporary teacher” means teachers including yoga instructors/yoga teachers who have been working in the universities by virtue of any Memorandum of Understanding between the university and the agency referred by University Grants Commission but were not considered in pursuance of the provisions of the Act;"; and (ii) in clause (iv), after the existing expression “University concerned on Deputation” and before the existing punctuation mark “;”, the expression “except yoga instructor/yoga teacher working in the universities under the Scheme for Promotion of Yoga Education and Practice and Positive Health in Universities introduced by the University Grants Commission or guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission after entering into an Agreement/Memorandum of Understanding between the University and University Grants Commission” shall be inserted.
3. Amendment of section 6, Rajasthan Act No. 22 of 2008.
In section 6 of the principal Act,- (i) for the existing punctuation mark “.” appearing at the end, the punctuation mark “:” shall be substituted; and (ii) after the punctuation mark so amended, the following proviso shall be added, namely:- “Provided that exercise of regularizing the left out temporary teacher may be undertaken after the expiry of 180 days.”. No appointment in pursuance to the provisions of this Act shall be made after the expiry of 180 days from the date of the commencement of this Act.
