The Chairperson

Statutory text
- (1) The Chairperson shall be appointed by the Sponsoring Body with the consent of the State Government for a period of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office: Provided that a Chairperson shall, notwithstanding the expiration of his term, continue to hold office until his successor enters upon the office.
- (2) Any vacancy in the office of Chairperson shall be filled within six months from the date of such vacancy.
- (3) The Chairperson shall, by virtue of his office, be the head of the University.
