Constitution of the Commission.

(1) The Government shall, as soon as may be after the commencement of this Act, by notification in the Official Gazette, constitute a Commission by the name, “The Rajasthan State Farmers Debt Relief Commission”, for the purpose of exercising the powers and performing the functions under this Act. (2) The Commission shall consist of five members, namely:- (i) one retired High Court Judge : Chairman; (ii) a retired officer of Indian Administrative Service who has served as Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary to the Government : Member; (iii) a retired Judicial Officer who has served as District and Session Judge : Member; (iv) a retired officer with experience of banking/ accounts/ financial sector : Member; and (v) one agricultural expert : Member; (3) The Chairman and Members shall be nominated by the Government. (4) The Government shall appoint an officer from Rajasthan Cooperative Services (not below the rank of Additional Registrar) as Secretary and other staff as may be necessary, to assist the Commission in such manner as may be prescribed. (5) In the discharge of their duties, the Secretary and other staff referred to in sub-section (4) shall be subject to the administrative control of the Chairman.
