The Rajasthan Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Act, 2019

This Act modifies the rules for cooperative committees in Rajasthan to prevent conflicts of interest between political office and cooperative leadership. It specifically bans a person from serving simultaneously as a Chairperson of a cooperative committee and as a high-ranking government official, such as a Union Minister, State Minister, Zila Parishad Head, or Panchayat Samiti Pradhan. If such a dual appointment occurs, the person must resign the cooperative position within 14 days unless they first leave the government post. This measure ensures that cooperatives remain free from political interference while also saving laws enacted under a previous ordinance.
