General201515 sections
This law applies to the entire state of Rajasthan and strictly bans the slaughter of camels as well as the possession, sale, or transport of camel meat or meat products. It also prohibits exporting camels for the purpose of slaughter. However, the Act allows for the temporary migration of camels from famine-affected areas to other Indian states for grazing purposes, provided the owner obtains a valid permit from the Competent Authority. This legislation aims to protect the camel population in Rajasthan while balancing the needs of pastoralists during times of scarcity.
