Statutes

Subject to such conditions as may be prescribed by or under the provisions of this Act, the Statutes may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely:-

1. (a) conferment of honorary degrees;
2. (b) holding of convocations to confer degrees;
3. (c) powers and duties of the officers of the University;
4. (d) constitution, powers and duties of the authorities of the University save as provided in this Act;
5. (e) institution and maintenance by the University of colleges, departments, institutions and hostels;
6. (f) acceptance and management of bequests, donations and endowments;
7. (g) procedure at meetings of the authorities of the University and for the transaction of their business;
8. (h) qualifications of Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and teachers in affiliated colleges and recognised and approved institutions;
   • (i) the remuneration and allowances including travelling and daily allowances to be paid to persons employed in the business of the University; and
9. (j) all matters which by this Act are to be or may be prescribed by the Statutes.
